Following dental school, Dr. Szalay completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Oklahoma University Health Science Center. There he received training in adult and pediatric anesthesia, as well as completing rotations in general surgery and internal medicine.
Dr. Szalay has presented at several local and regional meetings on his own clinical research as well as topics including corrective jaw surgery, cleft lip and palate, dental implants, and virtual surgical planning. Although he practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, his clinical interests include corrective jaw surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, temporomandibular joint reconstruction, and oral pathology.
Dr. Szalay was born in Budapest, Hungary, and moved to Austin with his family at the age of 7. He is very excited to be returning to central Texas with his wife and children. In his spare time Dr. Szalay enjoys hiking with his family, playing golf, and cheering on the Longhorns.
Dr. Szalay practices at our South Austin location with Dr. Clay Fuselier.
