Dr. Popp

Dr. Matthew Popp is a native Texan, born in San Antonio, TX. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. He joined the Airforce and completed residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the San Antonio Military Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Training Program. He went on to serve as chief of oral surgery at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, NV for four years and also serving on faculty staff for the 1-year AEGD program. He then returned to Lackland AFB, serving on faculty staff for the San Antonio Military OMS Residency Program for another four years. Dr. Popp enjoys a full scope of oral surgery ranging from dentoalveolar and implants to facial cosmetics and corrective jaw surgery. He is a Diplomat to the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Fricke Award Winner

Congratulations to Dr. Shwetha Ramanathan on winning the CADS New Dentist of the Year and The Fricke Mentoring Award from Austin Oral Surgery! This award is in memory of our friend and colleague Jim Fricke DDS. Jim had a passion for life, learning and deeply cared about sharing his wisdom in dentistry with young dentists.
