Jassel Fernandez, DDS
Dr. Jassel Fernandez is a Vanderbilt-trained oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He was born in Costa Rica and raised in Nicaragua. After completing his undergraduate studies at Universidad Americana in Nicaragua, he went on to obtain his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Following dental school, Dr. Fernandez matched at his top choice for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency—Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He is in his final year of residency and is currently serving as chief resident of the program.
While he enjoys the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Fernandez’s clinical interests particularly include dental implants, including full mouth reconstruction with zygomatic implants and corrective jaw surgery for complex dental-skeletal deformities.
Dr. Fernandez is dedicated to providing the highest quality and safest personalized care to achieve the best outcome for each individual patient. He is excited to be relocating to the Central Texas area and looks forward to becoming involved in the community in both his professional and personal life.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, hiking, cycling and traveling. He is fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Fernandez practices at our Temple location with Dr. William Cain.
